Virtual Assistant Certificate Requirements

Eight, 3-credit required courses, including a 120-hour practicum; plus one 3-credit course option.

Plan and organize an effective home office; apply principles of priority and time management.

Operate and troubleshoot a variety of office equipment, including photocopier, facsimile, telephone, digital scanner, and printer.

Network with other virtual assistants; learn the basic principles of marketing and how to market yourself as a VA; understand and use various telecommuting skills and techniques.

Certificate will transfer to other Office Administration programs at Alberta colleges.
